"The Observer" is a piece that I really enjoyed making. It was also among the first where I started to utilize a lot more water into my works. By that I mean having a couple drops of water on the parchment and then adding only a little bit of ink and dabbing the colors out. I am especially pleased that I attempted to create an obersvatory that seems quite isolated yet very inviting and perfect for the person observing. I especially enjoyed the challenge of creating the windows and undertaking how to get a lightsource to look that it is behind glass.

What is dry mounting? Dry mounting is a process of adhering the art print to a foam core or other stable backing. This prevents wrinkles and creases and prolongs the life of the artwork. It helps protect the art from the ravages of humidity and temperature changes, which may warp the art if not secured.
